Playwords
Playwords publishes playwork theory and practice, with the specific aim
of supporting new and academic writing in the playwork field. We publish
articles in three main areas;
mainly
theoretical - either new theory, critiques of old theories, or how theories in
other areas of study relate to playwork
mainly
practice - although we ask contributors to reference playwork theory in
describing their work
news,
information and book reviews - short articles with links for more details on our
website where appropriate.
Playwords is subsidised by profits from our training and publications
and digital copies are free to
members. For hard copies we currently ask for a small fee to cover
postage and packaging. Playwords is now 13 years old and has covered many
important issues in the past - If you are looking for a certain topic please
contact us and we will try and find it for you. For how to
purchase hard copies please
Publication dates vary as we only publish when we have enough articles of a good
enough standard. We hope that this will encourage more practitioners to write
stuff down - if you have an idea for an article and would like to know more
about how to send something in to us, please
contact us for author guidelines.
