Ba (Hons) in Play and Playwork

Glyndwr University Wrexham (formerly NEWI ) is offering full time and part time routes to obtaining a Ba (Hons) in Play and Playwork. The program covers topics such as Supporting Playwork Practice: Children and Society, Practical Playwork Practice, The importance of play: Child development , International perspectives and managing play projects and services, and much more. Experiential learning opportunities are a core element of the course and being situated in Wrexham, learners have access to some of the longest standing, and  finest playwork opportunities on offer in adventure playgrounds and peripatetic playwork right on the door step. The program holds the child's right to play central to its content, supporting learners to enable and facilitate that right in the broadest of contexts.

Access to Nature

Access to Nature is a £25 million grant scheme to encourage people from all backgrounds to understand, access and enjoy our natural environment. There has been a high level of interest in Access to Nature since the programme opened to applications in April 2008 and they expect this high level of interest to continue. May be a promising source of funding for natural play projects (which are explicitly mentioned under 'outcomes and targets'). It's open to the statutory and voluntary sectors.
